Procedures & Policies
Our process and policies
At Veracity Education we are proud of our reputation for placing high calibre, professional candidates into schools. The quality of our candidates is the result of our own experience in teaching and a well developed process that ensures we select the very best teachers and teaching assistants.
In-depth interviews and screening
The majority of our candidates come from recommendation or via our web site with suitable candidates called for a face to face interview with a member of the Veracity team. Our consultants, many of whom are qualified teachers are trained in interviewing, screening and vetting specific to company policy. They ensure we take on only those candidates that share the ethos of the company and a commitment to providing high quality education.
Approved documentation
During the interview process original documentation or authenticated copies of originals are photocopied and validated. Qualifications in particular are checked and teachers are only employed if they have a UK recognised teaching degree.
In addition, we expect that our candidates:
- Have been employed in mainstream education within the last six years
- Are able to provide two professional references
- Are able to provide documentation showing proof of criminal clearance from country of origin.
- Can provide proof of identification – passport
- Are GTC registered (if necessary)
- Have completed a medical declaration
- Have a valid work permit / visa
- Have List 99 clearance
CRB checks
Prior to any teacher being offered work they must have an Enhanced CRB Disclosure and/or Home Country police check. In addition two professional references must have been returned and verified. If a teacher does not have a valid CRB clearance they will be required to fill in an application form when they register. The candidate will not be offered a placement until the CRB application is validated.
Professional development
Company policy requires that a follow up call is made to schools where the teacher is on his/her first assignment. This enables us to assess their performance and to develop a programme of professional development that will help improve aspects of their teaching.
At regular intervals we check to ensure teachers continue to provide a service of the highest standard.
Permanent placements
In the case of teachers being employed on a permanent basis through the school the above recruitment policy is also applicable. Veracity Education will also offer assistance in the professional development and induction of the teacher in their new environment.
